Power Play A2 Progeny Dominate Perth

Bundaleer Rowan C34

Four head were exhibited at the 2008 Perth Royal Show. The judge, Bill Almond, manages a large commercial herd with extensive experience in fattening stock off grass and runs a successful Simmental Stud in New South Wales.

His comments during judging suggested he was interested in functional cattle that would perform under commercial conditions. He placed emphasis on structure, fleshing and moderate maturity pattern (mostly around frame 6). On this basis our team excelled. In summary we won:

Bundaleer Lolita C70

There was some stiff competition from some of the leading studs in Western Australia, so we were delighted to have won these awards. The three cattle that won the aforementioned awards were all by Bundaleer Power Play A2 — one of the few 8 star sires in the breed for tenderness. His progeny are very uniform in type and combine muscle content and constitution as good as any bull we have used at Bundaleer.

The team backed up the Royal Show performance at our local Margaret River Show. Under the co-ordination of Bob Haywood the show has become a feature on the local show circuit in WA. The show attracts interstate judges and decent prizes from corporate sponsors, this draws entries in from around the state, 2008 was no exception. With three junior head exhibited our awards included:

Bundaleer C72

Progeny by Power Play will be available at our 2010 On-Farm Production Sale.
